A Palm Bay teenager is enjoying statewide recognition after being named Florida State PAL Boy of the Year. Frankie Rosado received the award Friday at the state PAL Conference being held in Orlando at the Coronado Springs Resort at Walt Disney World. The seventeen-year-old junior at Palm Bay High School has been involved with the Palm Bay Police Athletic League since 2000 and has taken an active role in the Youth Director’s Council where, according to his advisors, he has excelled and become a role model to his peers. “Frankie never meets a stranger,” said Leslee Brimer, Director of the Palm Bay PAL program. “He is the first to make you feel welcome. He is always confident, respectful and tireless in his efforts to make a difference.”
Rosado is involved in his school as a member of the student council, the swim team, and the school chorus. “I’m humbled and thankful,” Rosado said. “I could not have achieved this without the help of my family and all the people that work to make the PAL program what it is.”
Country Bingo, a local business, was also named Florida State PAL Corporation of the Year. The business owners consistently donate a portion of their proceeds to PAL and its programs.
